Welcome Back Letter from Principal Henry

Dear Students and Families,

We are excited to welcome our over 600 scholars back for the upcoming school year! We hope you have a wonderful summer and are ready for another year of learning and growth. As we prepare for the first day, here are the details you need.

First Day of School: Thursday, September 10, 2026
Back to School Night: Thursday, September 24, 2026 at 4:30 PM

Open Gym: 7:00 to 7:55 AM, Monday through Friday
Breakfast: 7:30 to 7:55 AM
Instructional Day: 8:00 AM to 2:20 PM

Students can access their programs through their NYC Schools Account by the first day of school. We will also distribute printed copies in the first period on the first day.

All students are expected to be in the BTECH pride shirts (dress code) that can be purchased from https://idealuniform.com/BTECH/.  There is a store location in Lynbrook. We will be doing some dress code giveaways on a first come, first serve basis to our students who report on September 3^rd for our Back-to-School Kickoff.

To ensure we have a strong start we will be distributing student IDs, Phone cases, and important materials that you need for a strong start. All 9th graders should attend to pick up your ID and phone cases before the first day. We will also have food and giveaways for students as well. The location is on the MVB field (weather permitting). See you there. No registration required!!

Please review our Parent and Student Handbook, located on our website under the Students tab, so that you are familiar with our school policies, DOE policies, and expectations.

The 9th grade supply list is posted at www.btechnyc.org. All other students will hear from their teachers about classroom materials on the first day. Key items include:

MetroCards and OMNY passes will be distributed on Thursday, September 10, 2026, the first day of school. Please plan accordingly for travel that morning.

If your child receives transportation services through an IEP, route and provider of information will appear in your NYC Schools Account. Questions about transportation may be sent to [email protected].

All parents are invited to help us cheer our students into what we hope will be our best year ever. Join us in the courtyard from 7:30 to 8:00 AM on the first day.

Please complete your lunch form at myschoolapps.com so that we can secure appropriate funding for our school and confirm your emergency contact information in your NYC Schools Account.
